Asar joined QInvest to head up the Financing & Advisory business from Emirates NBD Capital (formerly NBD Investment Bank) where he was the Managing Director and Co-Head of Capital Markets, Structured Finance and Advisory. At Emirates NBD Capital, Asar was involved in the merger between Emirates Bank and the National Bank of Dubai and has been involved in advisory, equity and debt transactions including Abyaar (US$ 120m Private Placement for a Kuwaiti Real Estate Company), Nakheel (AED 3.6bn Sukuk), Velcan Energy (US$ 90m Equity Placement for an alternative energy company), RAKIA (US$ 325m Sukuk for real estate development in RAK), Esdarat ($125m equity private placement for a Mecca Real Estate Project) and PACE (Capital Raise and Listing of a Pakistani Real Estate company on DFM-ongoing). Asar joined NBD Investment Bank from Merrill Lynch in London where he spent 7 years. Most recently he was heading up the Restructuring and Liability Management Team within Capital Markets focused on balance sheet restructuring advisory assignments for companies such as Eurotunnel, EM.TV, Netia, Royal & Sunalliance, Standard Life, Grohe, P&O/Carnival, Lottomatica, and GUS. Before moving to capital markets, Asar worked in the Telecom Advisory team at Merrill Lynch and HSBC, where he worked extensively on mergers & acquisitions and equity advisory transactions for companies such as (NTT DoCoMo, Cable & Wireless, Orange, Vodafone, Storm Telecom, O2, X-Stream Networks and Livedoor). A former strategy management consultant, he is a qualified UK Chartered Accountant and holds an Honours degree in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College (University of London).

Asar is also a board member of Panmure Gordon.
