A twenty-five year veteran of Bank of America, Shahzad joined QInvest from Emirates NBD Group where he was CEO of the Investment Bank. He joined the predecessor, the NBD Group in July 2006 as CEO of NBD Investment Bank and during his 2 years he successfully set up and built a regional investment banking, asset management and private equity business with approximately 100 employees. Subsequent to the group merger with Emirates Bank International he was appointed CEO of the Investment Bank for the combined Emirates NBD Group.
Prior to leaving Bank of America, Shahzad was head of their regional investment banking platform for Europe, Middle East, and Africa in London where he was based for around 13 years. During his 25 years with Bank of America in various locations in their Global Corporate and Investment Banking Group he was involved in a broad range of financing, investment, capital markets and advisory transactions. His experience includes working with corporate, institutional and sovereign clients in both developed and emerging markets across a broad range of industry sectors.
Shahzad also headed up Bank of America’s emerging markets business – corporate & investment banking, and global markets in EMEA and was responsible for setting up several new businesses in these areas. He holds a BA in Economics from Oberlin College, Ohio USA.
Shahzad is also a board member of Panmure Gordon.
